Welcome New hire

New Residential Coordinators

We are excited to announce and introduce three new Residential Coordinators who recently joined the Support Inc. family! Please read more about Nathalie, Jennifer and Celena below.
Hi, my name is Nathalie! I moved to Denver last summer from New York City after teaching 7th grade math in the Bronx. I got a degree in Mathematics and Education from Manhattan College. I came to Denver to take a break from the city and enjoy more outdoor activities. I’m originally from Austin, Texas, and enjoy visiting my family there. I’m excited to transition away from classroom teaching and explore other rewarding positions. In my free time, I like hiking, salsa dancing, and pottery making. I’m eager to join the team and look forward to meeting everyone soon.
My name is Jennifer and I am a Colorado Native (Southern Cheyenne), singer/poet, single mom of two amazing people and Food Bank volunteer, among many other things. This past year has seen a lot of change and long-awaited accomplishments. As I rounded the corner of my 50th birthday, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree, established an annual scholarship to be awarded to Denver Metro youth, ran my first 5k (Okay, there was pumpkin pie at the end of the race – contributing factor, maybe . . .?), and climbed my first 14er with two other 50 year olds. I made the bittersweet decision to leave my long career as a teacher and join Support, Inc. to be part of more wholistic support for people with IDD. You may be able to see a thread of rainbow over my shoulder in this picture from the summit of Mt. Sherman. I feel that is a harbinger for positive work to come as a RPC, because just like these monumental events, this leap into a new role came with plenty of trepidation and perspiration. Knowing what I do about the Support, Inc. community, already I feel certain it will come with beautiful summits too. Thank you for the opportunity!

Hi everyone! My name is Celena. I was raised in Fort Morgan, a small town here in Colorado. I lived in Washington state for a couple of years while I went to school for my Associate of Arts degree, and I am very happy to be back in my home state! I have worked in day programs as a caregiver/QMAP before and I am currently going to school for my BSN so I am eager to start learning more of the administrative side of things here at Support Inc. In my free time I like going to concerts, being active outdoors with my daughter Adalyn, traveling, and going to basketball games (go Nuggets!) I‘m excited to meet everyone soon!

Please join us in welcoming Alex to the agency!

Hi there,

My name is Alex (She/her)! I’m from a small farm town in southern Minnesota and I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a major in Community and Health Education. I decided to go on an adventure and ended up in Broomfield, CO, which led me to this job. I am passionate about a wide range of health topics, but specifically mental and emotional health. I want others to know they are welcomed, heard, and cared for.

I come from a family of 5. I have two older brothers that make my life both fun and challenging, if you can imagine. Thankfully, they gave me cute nephews, who I absolutely adore. You can find me playing tennis, hockey, volleyball, soccer, or golf. I would also never give up the chance to go for a long walk or hike. Other than staying active, my hobbies include playing Pfeffer, hanging out with my friends, and drinking coffee.

I am beyond excited to use my public health skills and be a part of the team!

Help us welcome Lauren Strimer, one of our newest RPCs, to the Den-COS Team!

Greetings! My name is Lauren, and I am a new Residential Program Coordinator on the Colorado Springs team. Before joining the team, I worked as a Day Program Instructor teaching Life Skills to IDD adults in Colorado Springs. I believe it is so important for individuals with disabilities to receive coaching on life skills such as grocery shopping, dressing appropriately, communicating feelings etc. and I loved sharing those skills with my students! I look forward to impacting individuals in other meaningful ways with Support, Inc.

Outside of work, I like to listen to music, go window shopping, and adventure around the Springs with my husband and dog! (I am a proud Army wife and dog mom!)

I am excited to join the Support, Inc. team and meet more of my colleagues in person eventually.

-Lauren

Please join us in welcoming Denver-Metro 4’s newest RPC, Jordan Ocana!
My name is Jordan. I have been in the human services industry for a better part of 8 years, starting as I climbed my way up the ladder in a Level 5 Trauma Center to managing some of those same departments at the same facility as well as providing that same management and support for our future dental and nursing students at CU. After my departure from the health care side of things, I opened and managed an electronic repair company, all while I joined the Department of Human Services Team as a Juvenile Corrections officer working with a very high-risk population. Helping people and providing support to them where they may need it is something that I have always wanted to do, whether that is being involved one on one or helping from behind the scenes.
During the past few years, I have had a lot of opportunities to assist many individuals at various levels and it is still something that I wish to do through Support Inc. Outside of my desire to help and provide support to those I work with and those in our community, I love to work on our businesses and spend time with my family, go on new adventures and try as many new things as possible!

Please join us in welcoming our newest Loveland Residential Program Coordinator, Abby!

My name is Abby Beam, and I am the new RPC for the Loveland team. I moved to Colorado from Alabama about 2 years ago. Before coming to Support Inc., I worked as a DSP/Job Coach for a couple different day programs. After that I became a house manager for a small family run PASA. During this time, I also assisted with running a disability awareness nonprofit here in Loveland. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my partner and our dogs, and we frequently spend time going hiking, camping, or biking. I am very passionate about promoting independence in our consumers and helping them to live their best lives. I am very thankful for the opportunity to be here at Support Inc with a group of people who share the same mindset.

I look forward to working with all of you!
